Sarah Coles returned to her hometown of Pembroke after a teaching career in southern Ontario. She has enjoyed playing saxophone with many ensembles,
including the Band of the Ceremonial Guard, the Wellington Wind Symphony,the Festival City Big Band, and the Cambridge Concert Band, for whom she was also composer-in-residence. Sarah is an Associate Composer with the Canadian Music Centre and a member of the Canadian League of Composers and the Association of Canadian Women Composers. She writes extensively for bands, choirs, and small ensembles.
